Training Services

Blue Sky Agribusiness continues to provide training programs and solutions to a large range of clients within the Australian livestock industry. Our main focus has been in the areas of animal welfare, livestock management and risk management as it relates to livestock. We have designed and/or delivered a number of training programs for a number of clients, as per below:

  • LiveCorp Training Services Review – Stockman and Stevedores (MLA/Livecorp) 2013/2014 – The purpose of this project is twofold; firstly there was a requirement to enhance and standardise LiveCorp’s training service and thus respond to Recommendation 5 of the Farmer Review. Secondly, the course structure needed to be reviewed and modified to meet the requirements of the new regulatory framework and community expectations of the Australian live export industry.

  • Assessing and Managing Livestock Welfare – (Australian Livestock and Property Agents – ALPA) 2014/2015 – Blue Sky Agribusiness, under the industry name Australian Livestock Management, developed and then delivered a series of workshops designed to provide livestock agents in Australia with the necessary tools to manage risks associated with managing livestock at saleyards and other facilities. The program was underpinned by the Meat Industry Training and Advisory Council (MINTRAC) training program “Animal Welfare Officer Skill Set”. Over 300 agents have been trained and the program is being revitalised to meet new requirements for agents as well as updated regulations. The program received a large amount of media when it was, this being one example.

International

Blue Sky Agribusiness has provided a number of dedicated training workshops, specifically within the Live Export Industry, in a number of overseas markets. These have been part of major projects (see South East Asian Welfare Program (Meat and Livestock Australia) 2011/2016) but also specific training workshops for ESCAS in-market Auditors. A description of this program is below:

  • ESCAS Auditor Training (Schuster Consulting) 2013/2015 – This project delivered animal welfare, traceability and control training to auditors in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Middle East. Outcomes were to improve animal welfare and the traceability and control for exported livestock as the training will enhance auditor’s skills to assess facilities against ESCAS requirements. Blue Sky Agribusiness contributed to development of the program (including materials and presentations) as well as delivering the training programs and post training assessment.
